FUTURE AWARDS ROME

INIM's digital transformation project has earned national recognition.

Monteprandone (AP), June 25, 2026 – Following the recognition it received in the Central Italy regional round last April, Inim Electronics was presented with the national MADE Future Industry Award in Rome, establishing itself as one of Italy’s leading innovators in manufacturing in the Digital New Champion category.

This award recognizes the digital transformation initiative launched by the company at its Monteprandone plant, where, in recent years, Inim has invested in automation, the digitization of production processes, and skills development, with the goal of making production increasingly efficient, sustainable, and competitive.

The closing ceremony, held on June 24 in Rome, brought together Italy’s leading companies at the forefront of industrial innovation, selecting projects capable of generating a tangible impact through the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies.

“This award represents an important recognition of the path that Inim is pursuing with determination,” says Baldovino Ruggieri, CEO of Inim. “We have chosen to invest in Italy, focusing on technological innovation to make our plant increasingly modern, efficient, and competitive. We believe that Italian manufacturing can continue to play a leading role if supported by a long-term industrial vision and consistent investment in people and technology.”

Over the past five years, Inim has invested more than 15 million euros in upgrading its production facility, introducing new technologies to make the factory increasingly smart and interconnected. Among the most significant upgrades are the new SMT (Surface Mount Technology) lines, used for the automatic assembly of components onto circuit boards, which are now integrated with automatic optical inspection (AOI) and X-ray systems that allow for real-time verification of process quality. The introduction of smart vertical storage systems, directly connected to the Pick & Place machines, has also reduced line downtime, contributing to a 37% increase in production efficiency and a 25% reduction in energy consumption.

An Advanced Smart Manufacturing Project

The award was presented to the project “Inim Smart Manufacturing: AI, Robotics, and Integration,” a structured industrial transformation initiative developed in accordance with the Industry 4.0 and 5.0 paradigms.

The project involved a comprehensive redesign of the production line at the Inim plant through the implementation of a fully automated and interconnected system.  The project includes:

  • automated high-bay warehouses
  • SMT lines with AOI and X-ray inspection
  • PTH lines
  • advanced testing and programming systems
  • assembly, boxing, and packaging lines
  • automated stacker crane warehouse

All systems are natively integrated with the company’s ERP system and supported by artificial intelligence solutions, which are used for automated technical support, data analysis, batch traceability, and logistics optimization.

Testing and traceability activities have also been fully digitized:

Each electronic circuit board is identified via a laser marking with a unique code and tracked throughout the entire production cycle, ensuring high quality standards, full traceability, and continuous process control. The award confirms the company’s growth strategy, as it continues to invest in the development of technological solutions designed and manufactured in Italy, strengthening its role as an international leader in the building security and automation sectors.
